The Federation is headed by a President, Hans-Ole Jochumsen, President of NASDAQ OMX Nordic & Executive Vice President NASDAQ OMX Group and assisted by a Vice President, Deirdre Somers, CEO of the Irish Stock Exchange. (Click here for details of past Presidents)

The Federation's members meet once or twice each year in the General Assembly where the main strategic issues are debated and decisions made. Each full member has voting rights. Observer members can participate in the discussions. The Federation also has a Board composed of maximum 10 members which meets regularly.

The Federation's central co-ordinating body is the Management Committee, which meets three or four times a year. Every member exchange is represented on this Committee, which is chaired by Ian Cornwall, Director, Head Market Structure, SIX Swiss Exchange and the Vice Chair is Niels Tomm, Head of the Representative Office Brussels within Deutsche Börse Groups Market Policy & European Public Affairs section.

Reporting to the Management Committee are the Equity Committee which covers all regulatory initiatives that might affect cash equity markets (including primary and secondary markets as well as clearing and settlement), the Derivatives Committee which covers all regulatory initiatives that might affect derivative markets (including primary and secondary markets as well as clearing and settlement) and the Fixed Income Committee which covers all regulatory initiatives that might affect fixed income markets. In addition, the Economics and Statistics Committee reports to the Managment Committee.
