Response to Commission consultation on the Data Act

Companies need to invest to develop data products and services, with the party sharing data obtaining a reasonable return. FESE believes that when sharing data with public bodies, businesses should provide it at market price. However, limited exceptions can be made where the data is solely used for a relevant supervisory purpose.

All data-related initiatives should be analysed in a harmonised and holistic fashion. FESE believes that regulators possess the appropriate tools to act effectively to prepare a harmonised approach and we stand ready to provide the Commission with further clarity on the information reported by regulated markets.
